URBAN PROPOSAL FOR THE CITY- PORT INTERFACE

The Barcelona City-Port interface is under continue transformation. The limit between the urban port and the industrial logistic area is under movement and is being continually displaced south, opposite to urban positions, in search for areas where to minimize conflict between urban and port activities. At the same time, physically constrained the city of Barcelona is in search for space to provide houses to new comers.
This proposal link port and urban interest through the creation of a continue slab that facilities logistic activities under while permits urban activities above, provide space to enlarge today’s straitjacketed transport infrastructures and solve the link between the city and the bigger park in town, Montjuïc.

Re-naturalization and connection of the surroundings of the municipal market and the future "tramcamp" park.
One of the main points of the project was to give principal character to nature. With the improvement of the mobilization possibilities, we wanted to enhance the connection between the pedestrian and cycling areas. Fences and other barriers were eliminated, so the main facilities and the Vila-Seca area could be reached more easily.
In our strategy, on the other hand, the area intended for vehicle parking was reduced to an area of greater intensity and use for pedestrians, at the same time new parking spaces were planned around the train station.
As for the Tramway, we were focusing on the acoustic solutions, as the main problem was the noise, coming from the trains driving through the area. To resolve this situation, our team designed acoustic, noise filter panels around the trains’ path.
