PALAU​

The starting point was a terraced house in the old center of Mataró.

The best part of the existing house was the raw material, its big floorplans, the traditional construction, its beams and also the opportunities hidden in its architecture. 

The first step was to rediscover and highlight the importance of the back patio. The next step was to understand the interior as a whole unique space, not as divided independent floorplans. The last but probably most important step was to mix both prior steps and open an inner patio to fill the house with sunlight, airstream and crossed visuals.
