MANUELDEFALLA  is a flat located in a building in the upper side of Barcelona, which was built in the 1960s by a housing cooperative. The building had a bearing walls structure and the added problem of aluminium dust.

This meant that there was limited space and some walls could not be knocked down to create larger common spaces. The new occupants’ need for multi-spaces required a system where activities could overlap.

The suspended ceiling was removed to expose the original Catalan vault which provides cosiness. The original wooden flooring was repaired and extended, creating a warm atmosphere.
