URBAN PROPOSAL FOR THE CITY- PORT INTERFACE

The Barcelona City-Port interface is under continue transformation. The limit between the urban port and the industrial logistic area is under movement and is being continually displaced south, opposite to urban positions, in search for areas where to minimize conflict between urban and port activities. At the same time, physically constrained the city of Barcelona is in search for space to provide houses to new comers.
This proposal link port and urban interest through the creation of a continue slab that facilities logistic activities under while permits urban activities above, provide space to enlarge today’s straitjacketed transport infrastructures and solve the link between the city and the bigger park in town, Montjuïc.

With the need to design future bus stops and adapt to the changes of the new times, HUG is conceived as an innovative design in which the bus stop is understood not only as a pedestrian-transport connection space, but also as a meeting place for all kinds of needs in the public space.
The HUG bus stop is distinguished by its distinctive yellow colour, which acts as a guiding thread highlighting its linearity and simplicity. This design shapes the structure of the bus stop and its numerous integration options, adjusting to any urban environment thanks to the versatility of its modular pieces.
In addition, the design incorporates various functions in tune with a society committed to the environment: bicycle parking, bi-directional seating, areas for tree planting, pedestrian amenities and inclusion, and recycling points, among others.
