URBAN PROPOSAL FOR THE CITY- PORT INTERFACE

The Barcelona City-Port interface is under continue transformation. The limit between the urban port and the industrial logistic area is under movement and is being continually displaced south, opposite to urban positions, in search for areas where to minimize conflict between urban and port activities. At the same time, physically constrained the city of Barcelona is in search for space to provide houses to new comers.
This proposal link port and urban interest through the creation of a continue slab that facilities logistic activities under while permits urban activities above, provide space to enlarge today’s straitjacketed transport infrastructures and solve the link between the city and the bigger park in town, Montjuïc.

A former industrial warehouse in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has been converted into an open office space. A former industrial warehouse in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is transformed into an open office space. Near the neighborhood of Jinamar, the warehouse is located in an non-consolidated logistic park. Acquired by an engineering firm, the warehouse is two levels. Two streets serve the building and provide access from North and South. This condition opens the possibility for the new owners to promote two different and independent activities separated by levels. Core Innova, the engineering firm only requires the top floor to operate. The operations of the firm require space for vehicles and technical repairing and office space. The transformative strategy enhance the existence of a potential accessible roof and the opening of a patio at the office area. Natural light and ventilation were therefore enhanced. Likewise it was suggested to work with flexible division: plastic curtains. An industrial element linking the history of the space with the contemporaneity of the new use.
