Despite the complexity, and even though demolition was clearly the easiest solution, the owners felt strongly that the house, together with its spaces and shared family memories, should be saved. 

The house’s existing structure, which had been built over time on different levels and with different structural systems, was reorganised. The aim was to facilitate communication and enhance the common spaces. Likewise, a sense of exterior life was fostered by extending patios and terraces so as to favour natural ventilation and light.
